JobbieNooner is a yearly party that is held on Lake St. Clair every summer. It was originated by a small group of automotive designers ("Jobbies") They decided to blow out of work at lunchtime one Friday (i.e. "Pull a Nooner"), get together on their boats and have a good time. It started 27 years ago with four boats and seventeen friends. It has grown into the biggest party of the summer with an estimated 2,000+ boats and nearly 8,000 people attending in 2002. It has been nicknamed the "Mardi Gras of the Midwest. |
