Once in a life time visit by all four Good Year Air Ships. As brief as their visit was, they did take time to do a low pass over Detroit City Airport, then flew South down river. Dave (pilot in command) flew his Cessna 150 following the flight of four to Lake Erie, me shooting away. |
Goodyear's newest airship, "Spirit of America" was christened Sept. 5, 2002 in Akron, Ohio. The GZ-20A is 192 feet long, 50 feet wide and 59.5 feet tall; powered by two 210-hp Continental IO-360 engines and has a cruise speed of 30 mph. |
